Calling all brave young knights, warrior princes and princesses – Colchester Castle needs your help. Can you help tame a smoke-breathing dragon to save Colchester and its historic Castle?!
From the 29-30 August, visitors to Colchester Castle will step into an early medieval encampment filled with magic and mystery.
Enjoy live demonstrations, interactive exhibits and plenty of fun for the whole family. Learn more about medieval warfare; find out what skills Knights would have needed to go into battle, and watch live demonstrations and expert talks.
Councillor Darius Laws, Portfolio Holder for Economy, Business and Heritage, said: “This is a great opportunity for families to get together and head back into Colchester’s past. Wander around the Castle encampment taking in the aromas of traditional medieval cuisine and learn more about life in medieval Colchester. We also require some very brave children to face a smoke-breathing dragon before heading off to explore the Castle Museum in more detail, including its new exhibition Decoding the Roman Dead. A great day out is guaranteed for the whole family!”
